The Parallax P2 Eval Digital Video Out Add-on Board is a sophisticated device with an HDMI-type connector. This feature is particularly useful for those who wish to experiment with various video standards in their Propeller 2 multicore microcontroller projects.

The board is designed with a pass-through socket that conveniently stacks on top of a 2x6 accessory header on the Propeller 2 Evaluation Board. It is also compatible with a P2 Edge Module Breadboard or a P2 Edge Mini Breakout Board, provided a P2 Edge Module is installed.

The board is meticulously designed with labeled unused signal pins from the video connector on the PCB, adjacent to an unpopulated 0.1-inch pitch row of 6 pads. These pads include CEC, RSVD, SCL, SDA, 5V, and HPD.

Additionally, the board features a pad labeled “ACC 5V” next to the 5V output pad. This is the 5V supply from the accessory socket. This design is particularly beneficial for video monitors that require a 5V signal connecting to the 5V pin. The two pads with 0.1-inch spacing make this connection convenient. For instance, a 0.1-inch pitch header could be soldered here, and a shunt plug could be used when 5V is required for the monitor.
